I am casting on two pairs of socks today in my most favorite yarn, Blue Moon Fiber Arts Sock That Rock. Both are in medium weight and I am knitting them on size US 2.5 - 3mm Harmony needles.

Gingerbread Dude I bought last year for the holiday season. It's time, they should be ready for Christmas!!

Lapis - just gorgeous jewel tones that I cannot wait to see knit up.

One down another to go. This pair of socks has been a nice break from my fair isle projects. Working with just one yarn goes so quickly, and not having a chart to read is even faster. I am making these in a smaller size. I am hoping they will fit my Mom a little better. She has tiny ankles and her Monkey socks fall down. I cast on only 48 stitches for this pair.

I frogged the Rockin Sock Club Leafling socks. It just does not make sense to try to force myself to knit those. I am just not excited about them. I have too much knitting to do and so little time. I cannot waste it on projects I don't really want to do. This is primarily the reason I did not join any of the clubs this year. I have not knit one single club project from the Rocking Sock Club or the Year of Lace Club. I liked the lace shawl patterns and yarns but never knit any of them. I liked a couple of the sock patterns and loved almost all of the yarn, but never knit any of them. I am focusing on what I have on hand to come up with knitting projects now. Well, mostly - I did buy some Sweater, Scarf and Wrap kits from the Starmore Virtual Yarn store. Details on my home page.

I cast on a pair of Four Seasons Hot Socks in Jewel Tones. It is a self striping sock yarn from Germany, and there is no other project it is suitable for so I am going to knit some stockinette socks. I need to move that number closer to 52 for gosh sakes, I have been stuck on 45 pairs for far too long.

The Amazing Goblet of Fire Socks for my Hogwarts Sock Swap II Ravenclaw pal. I modified the Maze Hat pattern from Knitty to use in the sock. Knit Picks Palette yarn in fog and blue. Socks That Rock in Lucy Color way

These pooled in such an interesting way. The first sock is what I normally get but the second sock pooled vertically. That is totally new. I wish I could have gotten them both to do that!! I am over the hump, half way plus one.

Jisgaw Along Jigsaw socks in Shepherd Sport Black Watch

Another pair of socks doing double duty. I made these socks for the Jigsaw KAL. They are very soft and squishy but surprisingly they did not use up a lot of yarn. I have more than half of my second ball of yarn left. I will definitely be knitting this pattern again.

I am starting to feel the pressure. 52 *** Fifty-Two ### 52 pairs of socks. What was I thinking? I am on track, knitting on average a pair per week but, the patterns I am about to start are definitely going to take longer than a week to complete. I don't have any little feet to knit for, so no making the quick and small baby or kid socks. The Lime and Violet marathon ends this weekend and I have surpassed my 5 mile goal. I really feel good about that, 24 pairs of socks knit from Jan 15 to July 15, squee. Unfortunately the 52 Pair Plunge did not start until April, so only 15 of those 24 pairs count towards this goal.

I turned the heel on my second Blue Monkey sock and my 52 PP sock. I have about two inches left before I turn the heel on my Ocean Dreams sock. If I stay off of Ravelry I could finish all three pair by July 15th and hit the 6 mile mark. That would also give me three weeks to work on my Jigsaw, Pomatomus and Brigit socks.

Sounds like a plan - I need to clear the decks for the Sundara Yarn and Socks That Rocks Yarn I have coming. Double, extra loud squee.

I went ahead and ripped out the Bavarian Twisted and the STR RSC Monsoon Socks. I have pretty much decided to use the yarns for other patterns. I was not enjoying the Bavarian Twisted Sock Charts or pattern stitches. I have so many projects on the needles and in the queue, I will reallocate these yarns to more enjoyable patterns.

I did not like the first Rockin Sock Club pattern at all and I was not thrilled with the second RSC yarn so I have not knit up either skein. I definitely won't be doing another yarn club - they are expensive and you have no idea what you are getting. I generally love Socks That Rock and I have about 10 skeins in my collection and I have knit up 4 skeins of STR. That is why I thought I would enjoy the Rockin Sock Club. But I did not like the colorways of either of the mailings received so far. Most people are oohing and ahhing over both the yarn and patterns and I have not been impressed by either. I should have just bought $210 worth of the colorways and weights I liked. Live and learn - moving on.

I have turned the heel on the Knit Picks self striping sock and it is really cool. The striping is nearly perfect. The fabric is slightly scratchy but the patterning is really nice. I look forward to the finished pair. I am almost finished with the Lemongrass foot and should be able to do the toe decreases and kitchnering tonight. Yay!!! What of the Monkeys you might wonder. Since the Monkeys are so addictive and I cannot put them down once I get started, I decided to finish these other two socks first before returning to my Denim Monkeys. I have been itching to work on my Kenobi Jacket too. I just realized I never posted the progress pictures of the Jacket and my Bookworm Vest. I need to do that.
